Prizes

42 Entrepreneurs team has been working hard to handpick some useful problems for you to work on. In order to be eligible for the prizes, you will need to tackle one of the following problems in your own way. Spending time defining the problem, talking to users will put you ahead of the competition (rather than looking for an immediate solution).

โ€œIf I had an hour to solve a problem I'd spend 55 minutes thinking about the problem and five minutes thinking about solutions.โ€ โ€” Albert Einstein

1. Network (B2B or B2C)

Our personal and professional networks are getting larger. We build relationships through school, university, travel, and work. Most often worldwide.

We go to parties, we attend networking events, we get introduced to new people.

Growing a network is not a problem anymore (who hasn't thousands of connections on Linkedin?). Keeping up with its growth is. How to nurture, keep track of, and leverage our network?

On a professional level

You are building this new company, how to remember Max, an expert you connected with 2 years ago and who could be of a great help?

You connected with Dan 2 weeks ago. How to be reminded to stay in touch?

You have Alice and Charles in your network that should absolutely meet.

On a personal level

It can be hard to keep balance between our personal and professional life. We sometimes even forget to spend time with our friends and family.

How is Bob going? It's been 6 month you did not have a chat with him. What about Elizabeth? She moved to Tokyo 2 months ago, how are things going for her? Also, don't forget grandma's birthday next week!

2. Senior

"This computer is stupid, it drives me crazy !", "Please help me it tells me to press any key to start but I can't find it !"

These are typical phrases my grandma says when she tries to use her computer.

Even though seniors could really benefit from new technologies, they are not always designed for them and they might encounter a lot of barriers such as :

  • Computer anxiety
  • Fear of the unknown
  • Lack of perceived benefit or need
  • Vision loss
  • Negative feelings about social media
  • Habits from the time there was no technology
  • And the list could go much longer...

There is no doubt technology can help them a lot in their golden years, the question is : how can we assist them overcoming the barriers mentioned above ?

3. Visual creation

Apps such as Figma almost solved the problem of creating interface for multi-platforms.

But what about all the other content?

Influencer and companies leverage their visual creation by posting it on many platforms.

However, an animation, a video, or a static image is used differently (with different sizes, shape, and filters) depending on the platform. For example, you would use a square image for an Instagram feed, a gif for a newsletter, and a landscape format for a website.

At best, you thought about it from the start and just have to do the time consuming task of adapting the format.

At worst, you didn't, and you are in for a time consuming infinite rework of your visuals.
